How Popular Was Dr. Farmer's Class?

ADHFarmer_002_1.jpg

Document showcases how many students that were in his class and how many papers Dr. Farmer had to grade per semester.

This faculty report shows that in the academic year of 1993-1994, around 130 students enrolled in each section of his class for both semesters, meaning that Dr. Farmer taught 520 students a year! For an educational institution that prides itself on smaller class sizes, these numbers are astronomical. The majority of the students who enrolled in his course were upperclassmen, as spots in his class filled rapidly.

This faculty report also showcases how frequently Dr. Farmer travelled to other institutions to speak: in 1993, he travelled up and down the East Coast giving speeches. He was also interviewed by a diverse array of students, reporters, and historians during this year. The importance of Dr. Farmer's story was not contained to Fredericksburg; everyone wanted to hear his retellings.
